Sony Ericsson has announced at Mobile Wolrd Congress at Barcelona, its first and long time rumored Windows Mobile smartphone! Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 is a stand-out, arc slider phone designed to address the growing need for a premium, converged mobile experience. It combines 3" clear wide VGA display and a full QWERTY keyboard within a quality metal-finish body. XPERIA X1 is powered by Windows Mobile 6 Professional which makes available the windows mobile touchscreen experience to Sony Ericsson phones.

Sony Ericsson tries to embed their mobile phones with multi facet features, so that they can cater diverse needs of the people single handedly. For this, the company has acquired technologies like 'UIQ' and 'Windows Mobile' from Swedish software company 'Symbian' and American giant 'Microsoft' respectively. Sony Ericsson mobile phones basically are divided into five series focusing on special features like music, camera, business(web, e-mail), all rounder, design and budget focused. These series are Cyber Shot, Bravia, Walkman, UIQ and Xperia.

Cyber Shot Series of Sony Ericsson phones comprises of handsets of K series such as K750i K700i etc. This series was further extended to the mobiles such as Sony Ericsson C702, C902, C905 phones. These popular gadgets are focused on Camera feature with additional advantages of Auto Focus, Geo Tagging, Xenon flash, Image stabilizer etc. K750i where comes with 2 mega pixel of camera and high Memory Card capability, on the other hand its improvised version K850i was launched as Sony's first 5 mega pixel camera phone.
